As March approaches, I am preparing for the blues. First, I thought about eating a different blue cheese every day and writing a post about it -- I mean, what else is there to look forward to in March? Then I realized that would be selfish, eating all those gorgeous cheeses by myself. So I had a thought: why not invite you to join me?
Do you have a favorite blue cheese or blue cheese recipe? If you'd like to share it with the readers of this blog, I'll be happy to dedicate a day's post to you! This isn't part of any sort of promotion, just a private project -- something I've wanted to do for a long time.
Here's how the Blue Cheese Invitational works:
- Send me a photo of your fave blue or blue cheese recipe by March 31, 2011
- Include a few words about yourself and your favorite blue cheese
- If you're a blogger, I will be happy to link to you and highlight your loveliness
Sound fun? Drop me a comment or shoot me an email if you'd like to participate. Your photos don't have to be fancy -- you can even snap a few with your phone. Or, have your BFF snap a photo of you eating blue cheese. Be as weird/whimsical/whacky as you wannabe.
The idea here is to celebrate robust cheese, so if you're new to the cheese scene, just pick out one that looks interesting. If we share our blues, getting through March will be a lot more bearable. Plus, I'd love to meet you!
Part of me wants to develop a blue-cheese-chocolate recipe JUST to take part in this.ReplyDelete
Victoria, please do!!! Dark chocolate and Point Reyes Blue go really well together...based on some personal experimentation. I fantasize about blue cheese chocolate chip cookies, too. Thoughts?ReplyDelete
Hmmm...I was thinking a truffle, because that's the most obvious way to do it. But maybe a savory cookie with blue cheese drizzled with chocolate? I'll have to think, but I have six weeks...ReplyDelete
A savory cookie with blue cheese drizzle? You had me at "cookie." Just an aside, since you are a chocoholic: there is shop here in Philly that sells blue cheese fudge. It's amazing stuff.ReplyDelete
I am cooking up a fun little meat pie for you... it might not be savory sweet but it's definitely decadent with the grilled onions. YUM idea TReplyDelete
I would love to participate! I'll have to see which blues are at the cheese shop this week to inspire me.ReplyDelete
The Liptons are in! We (husband, adventurous 7 year-old, Grandma, and me) will do a family blue cheese tasting and report in.ReplyDelete
I'm totally interested in participating! I think I need to go get inspired at DiBruno's.ReplyDelete
Michelle, go get inspired. We need you!ReplyDelete
